BLACKSBURG — Donations for Special Olympics of the New River Valley will be accepted during a free July 4 concert and fireworks show to be held in downtown Blacksburg.
“Dr. Elvis On the Roof,” featuring Blacksburg dentist Dr. Chris Huff, gets underway at 8 p.m. on the roof of the Kent Square parking deck.
However, the musical entertainment begins an hour earlier, at 7, with the band Guilty Pleasures. Pink Caddy Daddy will perform at 9 p.m. and there will also be an evening fireworks show.
The event is free, but donations will be accepted for the NRV Special Olympics program, which serves the counties of Bland, Carroll, Floyd, Giles, Grayson, Montgomery, Pulaski and Wythe, and the cities of Galax and Radford.
Bring your own food, but profits from beer sales go to Special Olympics.
