Pulaski County Public Schools redesign website

Visitors to the Pulaski County Public School’s website will see some changes as the Information Technology Department is hard at work to implement them in order to make the site more user friendly.

Until recently, operation and upkeep on the site has been outsourced by another company. However, the school board decided to send two staff members for local and affordable training. Combining their training and prior knowledge, this has allowed for the transfer of these responsibilities from outsourcing to in-house. “Handling the website in-house will allow us the flexibility to more readily make changes and updates to our site,” said Tim Barnes, director of Information Technology for Pulaski County Public Schools.

Barnes went on to say that the site will include school calendars, directory information, athletics, pacing guides and more connections parents can use to stay informed. The site will also be linked to various school social media devices and the district app for smart phones. These apps can be downloaded for free from Google Play at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.relianceco.cma.pulaskicps&hl=en or from iTunes at https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pulaski-cps/id665265980?mt=8.

The site is not yet complete, but should be finished in the upcoming weeks. In the meantime, the new site can be found at http://www.pcva.com.
