Only one year after accepting the position of band director at Pulaski County High School (PCHS), Daniel Wilner has resigned, taking a directing job at a high school in Wythe County.

Wilner, who came to Pulaski from Chilhowie, had a successful career in his short time at PCHS. In the 2013-14 band season, the Golden Cougar Marching Band went to several competitions and won numerous awards. At the George Wythe Competition on Oct. 13, 2013, the band won second place for Drum Major (Class 4A), and took first place in Visual Effects, Music, Marching, Band, Percussion and General Effects (Class 4A). They also won Best Overall Band for Class 3A and Class 4A. These are just some of the many awards won during the band season last year.
