For the past month, construction crews have been grading old structures and turning the soil at Loving Field in preparation for the county-maintained park’s new future.
The Pulaski County Board of Supervisors approved funds totaling $95,000 for the needed improvements at Loving Field in April 2013, grading close to seven acres of the 10-12 acre park. The first phase of those upgrades is now complete, including a new restroom facility and concession stand in the middle of the eight-field baseball complex.
The county doesn’t plan to stop there, however, according to interim County Administrator Anthony Akers. A second phase of the upgrades to Loving Field is currently underway, including three large multipurpose sports fields, which will replace four of the park’s eight baseball fields.
