While it’s business as usual at many retail establishments and restaurants on Independence Day, government offices and services will have altered schedules.
Most employees will have just one day off — Friday, July 4. In a few cases, the holiday is extended for a second day, be it Thursday or Saturday.
Administrative offices for Pulaski County and the towns of Dublin and Pulaski all will be closed Friday in observance of Independence Day. However, in the town of Dublin employees will receive an extended holiday, with offices also closed on Thursday, July 3.
Pulaski County Public Service Authority (PSA) and the town of Dublin also have announced the following schedules for garbage collection, office hours and large item drop sites for the holiday.
PSA offices and all three large item drop sites (Bagging Plant Road in Dublin, Mason Street in Fairlawn and Dora Highway in Pulaski) will be closed Friday, but Friday PSA garbage collection will be collected as normal. Drop sites will reopen Saturday.
Garbage collection in Dublin will be impacted by the holiday. All customers whose garbage is normally collected on Thursday and Friday will instead have their garbage collected on Monday, July 7, along with regularly scheduled Monday pickup.
All county post offices will be closed Friday and there will be no mail delivery or collection that day. Mail service resumes Saturday.
Pulaski Area Transit’s office and bus system will be closed Friday and Saturday and Carter Bank & Trust also will be closed both of those days.
All other area banks will be closed Friday, as will The Southwest Times office.
