Pulaski Lodge #1067 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks joined forces with American Cancer Society Relay for Life “Team Captain” Judy Odell in both finance and participation on Saturday, June 21.
“The Elks support of the Relay for Life is very meaningful to our Lodge and our members,” said Jim Chitwood, lodge exalted ruler. “We have lost several of our dear friends and family to this disease. We have members who are counted as survivors and or responding to treatments.”
“Our Lodge has a passion to the effort and are happy to add our financial support to cancer being whipped,” he added.
On behalf of the Pulaski Elks, Chitwood presented a check for $500 to the Family Worship Center Team “Warriors for a Cure in honor of the Lodge members who are survivors and in memory of our absent members.
According to Odell, the Warriors Team had added $4,642 to the Relay for Life Pulaski Campaign by the time the last walker had taken off their track shoes.
