WYTHEVILLE — Crusher Run and New Ballard’s Branch Bogtrotters are the featured performers at Wytheville Community College’s jamboree to be held Saturday night, July 19.

The monthly Bluegrass and Old-Time Jamboree will be held 7-9 p.m. in William F. Snyder Auditorium on the WCC campus on East Main Street in Wytheville. Admission is free.

Hailing from Winston-Salem, N.C., Crusher Run Bluegrass Band plays traditional and gospel bluegrass. The New Ballard’s Branch Bogtrotters from Galax has taken home the top prize in the old-time band category of the Old Fiddlers’ Convention in Galax eight times. The band plays high-energy dance tunes.

Crusher Run will take the stage 7-8 p.m., with The Bogtrotters playing 8-9. Door open at 6. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Although the jamboree is free, donations will be accepted to defray the bands’ travel expenses.
