Historic Calfee Park has earned Pulaski County Clean Community Council’s July Clean Business Award “for setting a standard of excellence and pride” in the park’s appearance.
The Clean Business Award is presented monthly. Clean Community Council members select winners from nominees after reviewing their properties.
“The Council is appreciative of Calfee Park for setting a standard of excellence” a council press release states. The park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Opened in 1935, Calfee is named after then-Mayor Ernest W. Calfee. It is home of the Pulaski Mariners and the nation’s ninth oldest professional minor league baseball park still in operation.
Pulaski County Clean Community Council meets the first Tuesday of each month. For more information about meetings or becoming a member, call Kim Wright at 980-7710.
