New River Community College is offering a unique camp this summer that will help students prepare for taking the college admission, SAT, test.

The camp will be held Monday, July 29, through Friday, Aug. 1, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily, on NRCC’s Dublin campus.

Besides offering students with SAT shortcuts, hints and tips that will help the cover test topics more quickly, instructors Suzanne Steele and John Duncan also will review test topics and conduct math and verbal drills.

Steele and Duncan both are former teachers at Pulaski County High School. Steele is a retired English teacher. After 30 years at PCHS, Duncan now teaches at New River and Wytheville community colleges.

Steele has taught SAT preparatory classes for more than 20 years.

Tuition is $182, with a textbook fee of $45. Both can be paid at the first class. Please bring a graphing calculator to class.

To register, contact NRCC’s Office of Workforce Development at 674-3600, ext. 4323.
