Eddie Sutphin, one of the faces of the recreation program for the Town of Pulaski and Pulaski County for over 28 years has been fighting cancer for several months and has been fighting cancer for several months and has made good progress with the treatments. In a joint event with the Pulaski Elks Club and the Pulaski Theatre, there is a special evening planned centere3d around a baseball theme to honor Sutphin.
The event will be held Saturday, June 7 in downtown Pulaski. The Elks Club, located next to the Pulaski Theatre, will be serving a hotdog dinner starting at 4 p.m. with two hotdogs, baked beans, and chips for a $5 donation. Soft drinks and beer will be sold separately.
The theater will be showing the classic baseball movie “Bull Durham” starting at 7 p.m. Please note the movie is R rated. Theater doors will open at 6 p.m. with general admission seating. From 6 to 7 p.m., Sutphin will greet friends, share memories, receive hugs, and tell stories of his baseball and softball days. During this time, CD’s will be playing songs written by Sutphin.
Advance hotdog dinner tickets and movie tickets are available at Martin’s Pharmacy or by mail, in which people can send a check payable to Eddie Sutphin.
