Isaac J. Sarver of Dublin was appointed Friday to serve on Gov. Terry McAuliffe’s Board of Conservation and Recreation (BCR).
A 2006 graduate of Pulaski County High School, Sarver serves as the Western Virginia political director for Friends of Mark Warner, is chairman of the 9th Congressional District Democratic Committee and is a past president of Virginia Young Democrats.
According to its website, the 12-member BCR is charged with a number of duties, including advising the Department of Conservation and Recreation director on master plans for state parks, reviewing grant and loan requests for outdoor recreation and trail development, fundraising for state park projects, reviewing proposed scenic rivers, highways and byways, etc.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Sarver served as a customer representative for DCR in Dublin from June 2006 to August 2011.
