‘Finding Bigfoot’ episode to focus on Virginia

Pulaski could be featured on television this weekend, as Sunday’s episode of the Animal Planet series “Finding Bigfoot” will take the hunt for the elusive monster to Virginia.

Last August, The Southwest Times published a photo captured on a trail camera by outdoor columnist Roger Williams, which showed what appears to be a primate-like creature crawling over a log in the mountains just outside of Pulaski. Although the creature remains unidentified to this day, it did not seem to resemble an animal seen in the area before, and many readers suspected it to be Bigfoot.

The article and photograph generated the most traffic out of any post on www.southwesttimes.com, and is also the most commented-on post almost one year later.

Two days after the article was published, an associate producer for “Finding Bigfoot” contacted The Southwest Times about the photo. It caught their interest as they were searching for new evidence to feature on the show.

Although The Southwest Times forwarded Williams’ contact information to the show’s producers, neither he nor The Southwest Times staff has heard from them regarding the photo. It is also unknown if the show’s film crew came to Pulaski in the search for Bigfoot over the past year.

However, according to Animal Planet’s website, Sunday night’s episode will have the team traveling to Virginia to investigate a trail cam photo that could contain an image of a juvenile Sasquatch. Whether or not that’s the same photo taken by Williams is uncertain, but there is a very good chance considering the evidence.

Either way, the state of Virginia will be the setting for tonight’s episode of “Finding Bigfoot,” with a great possibility that Pulaski could be featured as well. To find out for sure, “Finding Bigfoot” will air Sunday, June 15  at 10 p.m. on Animal Planet.

Funny! We watched the episode because it was cool to see them screaming around in areas we’ve been ourselves. Personally I believe there was a large ape on this continent at one time (fossil evidence proves it). Possibly a few left around the time Europeans came to the New World. But by now they are most likely extinct and black bears account for most of the sightings.

I wish I knew when they were here, I would have
liked to report a scream that I heard about 2 years
ago. I was out, walking my dog in the yard when
all the dogs in the area started barking, including
mine. Well, out of nowhere this yell came, nothing
I ever heard before and immediately, every dog
stopped barking, infact my dog, his tail went
between his legs and immediately dragged me back to
the house. Now, it was erie…..
