Individuals and families will have a chance to take part in a “good old-fashioned camping experience” this weekend as Claytor Lake State Park joins in the national “Great American Backyard Campout.”
The campout, which is limited to 30 people, starts Saturday at 1 p.m. and runs through 3 p.m. Sunday.
Participants will get to reunite with nature and receive basic camping instructions during the overnight camping trip. They will get to swim, fish, go canoeing and cook over a campfire. A continental-style breakfast will be served Sunday morning.
There is a $30 registration fee; however families with more than four members must pay more.
Participating campers should meet at the group campsite in Campground D. For more information, call 643-2500.
Claytor Lake State Park is a 6620 Ben H. Bolen Drive in Dublin — off the Claytor Lake exit on Interstate 81.
