Police ID man killed in motorcycle wreck

The man killed in Wednesday’s crash between a motorcycle and SUV has been identified as 71-year-old James Edward Umberger of Pulaski.

Pulaski Police Capt. Anthony Meredith said the cause of the wreck remains under investigation, but “charges are pending.” Umberger’s age was incorrectly released as 72 Wednesday.

Umberger died at LewisGale Hospital-Pulaski after being transported there from the 2:17 p.m. wreck at the intersection of Memorial Drive and O’Dell Street.

Meredith said no one else was injured in the wreck.

    why does the paper keep reporting motorcycle collides with suv when in fact the suv ran over the motorcycle.
