Students and parents, faculty and staff, and Pulaski County School Board members gathered in the Pulaski Elementary gym Thursday evening to celebrate the school’s recognition as a Distinguished Title 1 School.
Pulaski Elementary is the first school in Pulaski County’s history to be recognized as a Title 1 School, according to Superintendent Tom Brewster. It is also one of over 30 schools in the state to receive that recognition, and the only school in the New River Valley to be honored this year.
“We are so grateful for the wonderful support we’ve had over the years to create a wonderful academic achievement that every child become successful, and will go through and graduate high school and beyond,” said Principal Linda Edwards. “We are giving them the tools to do that everyday.”
