Parks plan activities for National Kids to Parks Day

Claytor Lake and New River Trail state parks are offering special activities to encourage children to get out and explore during National Kids to Parks (KTP) Day, Saturday, May 17.

KTP, organized by the National Park Trust, is an annual event designed to engage children with state parks and other public lands. The goal is to promote environmental stewardship and healthy outdoor living.

The message of KTP mascot Buddy Bison is “Explore outdoors, the parks are yours!”
