New River Valley Horse Show will open for its 107th year Thursday, May 22, at New River Valley Fairgrounds on Route 100, about a mile north of Dublin.
The event runs through Saturday, with shows starting at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday and running 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
The show is believed to be the longest running horse show in the Commonwealth. Admission is $5 for adults, with the exception of Friday night, Spectator Appreciation Night, when adults are admitted for $2. Children age 12 and younger are admitted free with an adult all three days.
NRV Horse Show is affiliated with the American Saddlebred Association of the Virginia and the Carolinas, Appalachian Horse Show Association, East Tennessee Saddlebred Association, ASHB Futurity of West Virginia, Blue Ridge Horse Force, Paint Alternative Competition, Walking Horse Owners’ Association, and it is a qualifying competition for the Kentucky State Fair and ASHA High Point Awards.
