Mozelle Dishon Duncan, age 85, of the Snowville community went to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at her home. Born Oct. 15, 1928 in Snowville, Va. she was the daughter of the late Roy Freeman and Dallas Phillips Dishon. Her husband; Arthur George Duncan, sisters; Helen Quesenberry, Shannon Ruth Dishon and daughter-in-law, Sheryl Duncan, also preceded her in death.
She was a long time member of the Snowville Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School Secretary for many years. She retired from Snowville Elementary School with 29 years of service.
She loved to crochet; many people in the community loved and received her afghans, baby blankets, caps and sweaters.
She is survived by her sons, Jerry E. Duncan of Snowville, Harold W. Duncan of Snowville, Anthony G. “Tony” and wife, Tammie, of Snowville; grandchildren, Brad Duncan and wife, Tara, and children, Braden and Blayze of Snowville, Amber Nicole Flinchum and husband, Eric, and children, Brody, Conner, Emberlyn, Corbin of Snowville and
Charity,Tanisha and Faith of Giles County, Sarah Ivy Duncan and children, Tristen and Bailie of Radford; sisters, Nancy Owens of Dublin, Joyce Cox of Snowville, Linda Boyd of Floyd, Pat Cox of Snowville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Ina Dishon of Fort Collins, Colo., Conley and Janet Dishon of Snowville, Donald Dishon of Dublin, Leslie and Peggy Dishon of Riner, Lacy and Dot Dishon of Dublin, Merle and Tracy Dishon of Snowville, and Buddy and Elizabeth Dishon of Snowville.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 10 at the Snowville Baptist Church with Pastor Neil Wood officiating. Interment will follow at the Page Family Cemetery, Snowville.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 9 at Bower Funeral Home-Pulaski.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be sent to the Snowville Volunteer Fire Dept., 4855 Lead Mine Road, Hiwassee, VA 24347.
