When you head out to enjoy the music, vendors, antique cars and other activities at Claytor Lake Beach Festival Saturday, June 14, you can also renew your vehicle registration or even get a copy of your birth certificate.

Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles will have its mobile DMV 2 Go customer service center at the festival between the hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival is held at Claytor Lake State Park, with most activities in the area between Water’s Edge Meeting Facility and the beach/swimming area.

The mobile unit is handicapped-accessible and can handle DMV transactions involving driver’s licenses and ID cards, disabled parking placards, vehicle titles, license plates and decals, changes in voter registration address or organ donor status, birth certificates and EZPass transponders.

A partnership between DMV and Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries also allows citizens to purchase hunting and fishing licenses through the mobile office through DMV 2 Go, so be sure to bring your fishing gear along.

Before visiting one of the mobile units, customers are encouraged to research what documents will be needed to complete their transactions. An interactive document guide is available at www.dmvNOW.com.
