Melva Lucille Keith Largen, 83, of Pulaski, Va., passed away Tuesday May 6, 2014 in the Pulaski Health and Rehab Center. She was born Aug, 5, 1930 in Floyd County, Va. and was the daughter of the late Jabe and Hattie Hylton Keith. Also preceding her in death were her husband, James Largen, two sisters, Ruby Reed and Margie Keith, two half brothers, Lois and Chris Keith and two half sisters, Nova Shelor and Elizabeth Weir. She was a member of Jordan’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, James (JW) Largen and Sammy Larger both of Pulaski, Va.; sisters, Katy Reed of Michigan and Wilma and Glenn Reed of Floyd, Va.; grandson, Jabe Largen and Amber; granddaughter, Ashley Funk; great-grandchildren, Erica Funk, Ella, Isaiah and Olivia Largen; one great great-grandson, Christian Funk; sisters-in-law, Betty Horton, Ruby McGrady and Priscilla Rameriz; brother-in-law, Jr. Largen; many nieces and nephews and special family of Shane, Nancy, Scotty and Keegan Craighead, and her church family at Jordan’s Chapel.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 9at noon from the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastors Jabe Largen and Scott Robertson-Gouge officiating. Burial will follow in the Thornspring Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. till the service hour Friday.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Willie Cook Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of Jordan’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Pulaski, VA 24301.
