Those who have dreamed of performing the National Anthem before a professional baseball game may have an opportunity to make their dream come true with the Pulaski Mariners.
According to the team’s General Manager, John Dittrich, auditions will be held at Calfee Park on Saturday, June 7, starting at 10am. A panel of local celebrities will judge the proceedings.
“We love to involve members of our community in Pulaski Mariners baseball,” said Dittrich. “What better way than performing the national anthem?”
Individual vocalists, singing groups, and instrumentalists are all welcome. All soloists and vocal groups should be prepared to perform the anthem a capella, said Dittrich.
Church choirs are also welcome to audition for the spot. The search for the next Mariner’s anthem singer will also coincide with the Pulaski High School Class of ’64 reunion, so anyone returning for the reunion is also encouraged to audition.
According to Dittrich, walk-ins are accepted, but registering early is highly recommended so potential singers don’t risk missing out on a chance to audition.
To register for a time slot, contact the Mariners front office at (540) 980-1070 on weekdays between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
