Home electronic monitoring denied

By MELINDA WILLIAMS

Another attempt to free Angelia Paige Harrell from jail pending her embezzlement trial later this summer failed Friday.

A Pulaski County judge denied a motion to place the former Pulaski County High School cheerleading coach and student counselor on home electronic monitoring (HEM), citing a lack of jurisdiction to do so.

Circuit Court Judge Marcus Long Jr. revoked Harrell’s bond April 25 after she was charged in Prince William County April 13 with felony shoplifting. That decision can be appealed to Virginia Court of Appeals and the judge isn’t willing to tell New River Valley Regional Jail to alter its HEM policies if Harrell does not meet the qualifications.

She is her own worst enemy, she is better off in jail without shopping (shoplifting) access.

She needs to be in jail. This has gone on long enough. As a previous student of hers she has always been a liar and a cheat.

I don’t understand how people get off on others mistakes. If Angie did do this then she will serve the time. As far as the family, leave them out of this. So what if he partner works for the government, a lot of people work for the government. What does that have to do with this case. Show some respect! What if it were you or your family in this situation? The tables would be turned then huh! The family is going through enough and doesn’t need your mouth!

Ahh…someone bringing up “the family” again when the first (and only) two posters haven’t even mentioned them. Me thinks you are trying to stir something up.

Someone always gets on to post about leaving the family out of it when no one else has mentioned the family is hilarious! You all are the crazy ones that keep bringing them up.
