Dennis “Papa” Wayne Lovell, age 67, of Pulaski, Va., died Saturday May 24, 2014 at LewisGale Hospital-Pulaski. He was born on May 24, 1947 in Wythe County, and was the son of the late Nancy Pearman Lovell and Richard L. Lovell. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Vietnam War, from 1965 – 1969 as an aircraft mechanic aboard the U.S.S. John F. Kennedy, where he was presented the National Defense Service Metal, and was a member of the Faith Bible Church.
He leaves to cherish his memory by his loving wife of 45 years, Juanita Dalton Lovell; his children, Dana and Jack Fleenor of Pulaski, and Michael and Lara Lovell of Narrows; grandchildren, Joshua Crowder and his wife, Brianna, of Christiansburg, Kelly Dent of Narrows, Jacob Lovell of Pulaski; one granddaughter, Kellsy Lovell of Narrows; one brother, Jerry Lovell of Max Meadows, in addition to several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 31 at 11 a.m. at Seagle Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Linkous officiating.
Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens where the American Legion Post #58 will conduct military honors. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 until 7 p.m., at the funeral home. The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Yoder and the entire ICU Staff.
