A Dublin man who was weaned off alcohol only to go back to drinking before he could get into a treatment program is being given a second chance to prove he wants help.
“He’s beyond alcoholic,” Pulaski County Circuit Court Judge Marcus Long Jr. said of 50-year-old Mark Anthony Beavers Thursday. “I believe what you’re saying, but you’re going to need a lot of help,” Long told the man.
Beavers was in court for possible revocation of a 12-month sentence on a November 2012 offense of reckless handling of a firearm. Earlier this year, he was ordered to enter into an alcohol treatment program through New Life as a condition of the sentence being suspended.
