An American Red Cross blood drive sponsored by the American Legion will be held on Friday, May 16, from 1p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Legion’s building, 338 N. Washington Ave, Pulaski.

According to a release from Debbie Suddarth, the clinc’s executive director, the American Legion will donate $5 for every pint given. All proceeds will go to the Free Clinic of Pulaski County.

The Free Clinic and the American Legion highly encourages the community to come and support the Clinic by donating a pint or stop by the health information booth at the Legion building and donate $5.00 any time between 1pm and 6 p.m.

According to Suddarth, the donors will not only be helping the clinic, but they will also be helping the people who need blood at the most critical time of their life.  She added that anyone who donates will also be able to eat a meal cooked by local legion members.

“By the clinic working with local organizations like the American Legion, it helps further our mission in serving our uninsured neighbors,” Suddarth said. “This venture is a first for the clinic and I’m sure other events will follow.”

The public is invited to come out and do something special for people they may not know, enjoy a home cooked meal, and have $5 donated on their behalf.
