William Joe Fields

William Joe Fields, 79, of Pulaski, Va. passed away early Friday morning, April 18, 2014 at LewisGale Hospital-Salem. Born in Russell County, Va. Dec. 2, 1934 he was the son of the late Joe and Bessie Wallace Fields. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Price, Peggy Loyd, Cathy Nash and Debbie Davenport, and brothers, Frank and James Fields. He was a retired employee of Volvo Trucks and was a member of the Newbern Community Christian Church.

Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Bonnie Fields; son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Regina Fields Jr.; grandson, Brody Fields; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Jerry Wynegar of Abington, Va.; Cindy and Clay Byrd of Sevierville, Tenn. and brother and sister-in-law, Sammy and Elizabeth Fields of Gate City, Va.

Funeral services will be held Monday April 21 at 2 p.m. from the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Trail officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin, Va. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.
