Walmart supports Pulaski County United Way services

United WayBy SUSAN DALRYMPLE

Pulaski County United Way

Pulaski County United Way (PCUW) and partner agency representatives, Monica Musick, Senior Services and Amber Stanley of Big Brothers/Big Sisters explained their program services to Walmart associates during recent morning associate meetings. Senior Services has been serving Pulaski County seniors since 1974. BB/BS is a new partner organization for United Way and has been serving Pulaski County youth for three years.

Walmart employees have their funds matched dollar for dollar.  PCUW Executive Director Susan Dalrymple says this allows employees to really make an impact on an organization. United Way funds and oversees the very best health and human service organizations in the area. The approach is not only meeting the most pressing needs, but also to aid residents to avoid problems in the first place, if at all possible.

United Way focuses on education, income and health issues. United Way volunteers feel those three focus areas are the foundation for a successful life. United Way volunteers, partner organizations and community experts work together to identify the most pressing needs.

Community residents, businesses, retirees and industries can become a part of the change. Dalrymple explains that everyone is asked to give, advocate and volunteer because together our county resources, voices and action can make a difference here in Pulaski County.  If you would like to participate in United Way or have a business that would like a speaker for your employees, call Susan Dalrymple at 980-2537 or email at pcuw@comcast.net.
