The Learning Circle provides homey experience for preschool aged children

In a little old house on Giles Avenue in Dublin, children in the area are learning skills that will help them transition through the early stages of their lives.

The Learning Circle, which has been in operation since 1997, offers an experience for early childhood education in a way that cradles comfort, but still helps the children develop socially. According to director Tina Blackburn, The Learning Circle’s setting gives off a homelike environment, which can have a positive impact on learning at an early age.

“It does feel more like a home to them,” said Blackburn. “Where they have classes in different rooms of the house, it enables us to keep our class sizes smaller, and provides a little more intimate environment for the children to get to know each other.”

What a wonderful place for learning for children!! So glad to see an article on such a loving, home schooling area for the children. For a young child being away from parents can be scary. The Learning Circle is a great place for coping with the separation anxiety young children can feel. I am prejudice but after taking children for 8 – 9 years (I lost track) I can speak on personal experience how well the chilren are treated and taught. Mrs. Cox was director during my many years and Mrs. Blackburn welcomed most of mine on their first day of preschool as their teacher.. I look forward to start back in a year with another set of children to attend the Learning Circle. Mrs. Hess, Mrs. Johnson and the other teachers I have met over the years are exceptional!! Thank you again for the article and how blessed we are to have such a place who not only teaches ABCs but teach the children of Gods love and caring… Thank you Learning Circle for being there for us…..
