WYTHE COUNTY – The two motorists killed in Tuesday morning’s crash on Interstate 81 in Wythe County were from out of state, according to Virginia State Police.

Corinne Geller, State Police spokeswoman, identified the deceased tractor-trailer truck driver as James R. Anderson, 34, of Decherd, Tenn. The other fatality was Tanya D. Mann, 56, of Zirconia, N.C.

According to Geller, the investigation determined the 3:23 a.m. series of crashes started when a tractor-trailer driven by Philip O. Emiabata, 53, of Pflugerville, Texas ran off the left northbound lane of the interstate and overturned onto its side. The truck came to rest across the median and left southbound lane.
