NRCC Phi Beta Lambda students win awards




Five members of the Phi Beta Lambda chapter at New River Community College qualified to compete at the national level by winning awards at a recent PBL State Leadership Conference held in Richmond.

Local representatives competed against students from seven universities and two other community colleges.

Winners and their categories of competition are:

•Amanda-Jeanne Cooper of Pulaski, first place Job Interview,

•Kellie Fore of Dublin, first place Management Concepts,

•Kaitlyn Hagreen of Blacksburg, first place Computer Applications and first place Word Processing,

•Emily Jessee of Radford, first place Client Service and second place Project Management, and

•Cindy McPeak of Dublin, second place Marketing Concepts and third place Organizational Behavior and Leadership.

The National Leadership Conference will be held in Nashville, Tenn. in June.

Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda is a non-profit education association that helps prepare students for careers in business and business-related fields.
