New River Community College will offer a series of classes beginning April 26 to help students prepare to take the SAT, college admission, test.
Classes will be held 9 a.m. to noon each Saturday through May 31, on the Dublin campus. Tuition is $182. A $45 textbook is payable during the first class.
Instructors Meredith Jones and Suzanne Steele will review and explain test topics, math and verbal skills. Tips, hints and shortcuts will be offered to help students cover SAT topics more quickly on test day.
Jones, a math teacher at Pulaski County High School, has taught SAT prep classes for six years. Steele is a retired PCHS English teacher. She has taught SAT Prep classes for more than 20 years.
Students taking the preparation course should bring a graphing calculator to the class.
