Calling the crime a “senseless taking of another human being’s life,” a judge Thursday imposed a jury-recommended sentence of 40 years upon a Belspring man convicted of second-degree murder.
Pulaski County Circuit Court Judge Marcus Long Jr. said he could “see no reason to change the jury’s verdict” in the case of 42-year-old Roland Keith “Ron” Wilson Jr., who was convicted of killing Stephen Harrison Bane by slitting his throat with a broken beer bottle in September 2012.
Forty years was the maximum possible sentence Wilson could have received.
