Leigh Ann Wilson

On Wednesday, April 16, 2014, our beloved Leigh Ann Wilson, 33, passed away in her sleep at her home in Dublin, Va.

Leigh Ann’s time spent on this earth was a blessing to all those who appreciated her witty humor, inner personal strength, self-attained courage, and bold tenacity in the face of physical challenges. These lasting memories of her existence will forever remain with those souls whose lives were touched by her fiery spiritedness.

In her short lifetime Leigh Ann’s spirited presence gave true inspiration to her family, loved ones, and cherished friends. Throughout her 33 years she fought for the right of self-advocacy and actively empowered others to do the same. She leaves behind a legacy of enduring determination born from strong-willed independence and the stubborn resistance to society’s definition of “normal.” Our little wildflower will be forever missed.

She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her mother, Janet H. Brennend of Pulaski, Va.; brother and sister-in-law, Randall and Amber Wilson of Oxford, Conn.; nephew, Austin Wilson; nieces, Peyton and Rylee Wilson, and many other adored aunts and uncles, cherished extended family members and beloved, dear friends.

A celebration of Leigh Ann’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 19 at Dublin Baptist Church, 100 Hawkins St, Dublin, Va., with Pastor Dennis Jones officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m.

Her family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Leigh Ann’s honor may be made to the Pulaski Retired and Senior Volunteer Program – “Supplies for Seniors” and the Annual Caregiver Conference and Resource Fair, NRV Agency on Aging; two programs near and dear to her heart.

For additional information regarding services or memorial contributions please contact Mullins Funeral Home at 540-639-2456 or via e-mail at mfh@mullinsfuneralhome.com.
