The first book in the Legends of Graham Mansion five-book series won an honorable mention award in a contest sponsored by Writer’s Digest.

“Redemption” by Rosa Lee Jude and Mary Lin Brewer of Max Meadows received recognition in the fiction category of the Self-Published e-Book Awards. The contest is projected to be an annual event.

The fourth book in the historic fiction series, “Salvation,” is slated for release in May.

“Redemption” covers the time before Graham Mansion was built. It tells the story of the killing of Joseph Baker, which is historic fact, and weaves in fiction to recount the events as witnessed by a time traveler from today.

Jude is director of tourism for Wytheville, while Brewer is the official spokeswoman for Graham Mansion.
