Exotic pet store to open in downtown Pulaski

By CALVIN PYNN

calvin@southwesttimes.com

A new breed of pet shop is looking to nest in downtown Pulaski, bringing a wide array of critters to diversify the town’s business scene.

The new business, called Wings Tails & Fins, will specialize in offering exotic pets that are hard to find at other pet outlets around the area. Co-owners Corey Pless and Julie Burkhart have been in the business for years as employees at the now closed C&P Pets, which used to be located in Christiansburg.

Wings Tails & Fins will be the first business Pless and Burkhart have pursued together. According to Pless, who was the general manager at C&P Pets when it closed, a lot of maintenance is being done right now at the site for their new store, particularly in building fish tanks.

This is good news! I just drove to C’burg today to buy some fish for my koi pond, a plant, food, etc. Would have been wonderful to give that business to a local store. Not to mention the time and gas it took to drive that far. Looking forward to visiting when they open.
