Fire crews arrived at a residence off of Lee Highway in Pulaski early Tuesday afternoon in response to a small brush fire.
Although firefighters arrived to put out a controlled burn, it was in violation of the state’s burning law, which has been put into effect temporarily due to the high risk for forest fires in the early spring.
According to Fire Marshal Todd Garwood, the fire was of such magnitude that the home’s owner could not put it out himself. He also said there was the possibility that it could have spread if it wasn’t extinguished in time.
