The Pulaski YMCA, in sponsorship with Pulaski Bikes, has announced its “Y Not Ride?” bike event to be held on Saturday, April 12, starting at 9 a.m., with late registration the day of begins at 8 a.m.
The event features two separate bike rides. The first, a Family Fun Ride, is an out and back adventure that is reasonably flat, travels along both the Dora Junction and the New River Trail, and is a gentle 12.4 mile ride suitable for riders of all ages and abilities.
For more serious riders looking for a challenge and early preparation for the Mountains of Misery 2014 event, the “Pulaski 5,000+ Loop Ride” is 42 miles and has almost 6,000 feet of climbing. The Loop Ride starts at 9 a.m. and the Family Fun Ride will begin at 11 a.m.; both rides begin and end at the Pulaski Train Depot. Cost for the race is $25/person and includes a t-shirt or $15 for race only; kids 12 and under are free. Register online at our website at https://www.pulaskiymca.org or call the Y at 980-3671.
