April 8 will mark the third anniversary of the tornadoes that ripped through parts of Pulaski County, leaving properties in shambles and families homeless.
To celebrate the conclusion of the recovery effort that has been ongoing since that day and recognize the volunteers, residents and community partners that made recovery possible, the public is invited to attend a special event Tuesday, April 8, 2-6 p.m., at Pulaski Train Depot, 20 S. Washington Ave.
“Pulaski Tornado: A Celebration of Pulaski’s Astounding Tornado Recovery” will include speakers, displays, snacks, music and fellowship. A special program will be held at 5:30 p.m.
The event also will recognize the conclusion of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) projects that helped with the rebuild projects.
The celebration is sponsored by town of Pulaski, Pulaski County, Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development, Community Planning Partners Inc. and Southeast Rural Community Assistance Project Inc.
