Snowville Elementary to plant school garden

Students, parents and other volunteers from the community will take to the soil at Snowville Elementary this Saturday to help plant the school’s first garden.

According to Karla Smith, secretary at Snowville Elementary, some teachers at the school wanted to get involved in a project to plant a garden at the school. The local Home Depot approached the school last year about the project, although it never got off the ground.

However, Home Depot approached the school again this year and proposed a significant budget they wanted to invest in the school to beautify its grounds. The business also offered to donate materials and manpower to help plant the garden, as well as designing the whole garden space.
