Roberta V. Adams

On Saturday, March 15, 2014, God sent His angel of mercy to LewisGale Hospital-Pulaski, to gently caress and bring to His heavenly home, Mrs. Roberta Virginia Adams. Roberta was born on Sept. 16, 1930, in Allisonia, to the late Earl and Helen Garner. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years John R. Adams, a daughter, Ivery A. Boysaw and son, James R. Adams. Also preceding her in death three sisters, Mary Easter Mattox, Sadie Garner and Elsie Hines; brothers, Howard and Eugene Garner; brothers-in-law, James, George and Calvin Adams, Lawrence Martin and Ernie Harrison; sisters-in-law, Edith Price, Dorothy Miller, Lena and Mildred Adams. She was a member of the First Baptist Church Magazine Street, Pulaski.

Roberta leaves to cherish her memory, two devoted and caring daughters, Sally Inez Adams of the home, Edith (Emmett) Hampton of Dublin, two devoted and caring sons Richard (Brenda) Adams of Pulaski, and Billy Adams of Allisonia.

One sister, Susie Garner; great aunt, Sadie Harmon and sister-in-law, Helen Martin. She also leaves to cherish her memory grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

We invite family and friends to join us for visitation at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 20 at Riverview Church of God, 2703 Wysor Hwy., Draper, followed by funeral service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Douglas Patterson, Pastor of First Baptist Church Magazine Street as eulogist. Burial will follow in the Adams Family cemetery at Rich Hill Lane, Allisonia.

The family would like to thank Dr. Matthew Skewes for his many years of service and her faithful friends that called and visited every day. Arrangement entrusted to Penn’s Funeral Home, Pulaski. Condolences can be sent to pennsfuneralhome@gmail.com or posted to whopassedon.com

    Sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one. You all have our deepest and heartfelt sympathy. Edith and Emmett we are sorry we can’ t be with you doing this time but our thoughts and prayers are with you.
