Participants of all ages and abilities will have a chance to compete for prizes by crawling through sand, climbing over walls and tiptoeing through tires Saturday, April 19, during the Claytor Lake Ness Monster Obstacle Course Race.
The event, sponsored by TriAdventure Multisport Coaching and Fitness, kicks off at 9 a.m. at Claytor Lake State Park.
Anne Jones, owner of TriAdventure, said the race isn’t “just a trail run with rugged terrain — as if the roots, rocks and hills aren’t tough enough.” She said participants should “be prepared to trudge through water holes, hop across logs, and climb, crawl and leap over and under other natural and manmade obstacles along the course.”
