Job seekers are urged to “dress for success” and bring along a couple dozen resumes to New River Valley Job Fair Expo to be held Wednesday, April 2, at New River Community College.
Expo participants will be able to meet with and distribute resumes to more than 40 local employers during the event, being held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in room 117 of Edwards Hall.
NRCC career advisors also will be on-site to answer job search questions and review resumes.
The expo offers companies and organizations an opportunity to survey potential employees, including seasonal workers, technically trained entry-level employees, recent college graduates and experienced professionals.
Sponsors are NRCC Office of Workforce Development, Partners for Self-Sufficiency (a partnership between social services departments in the counties of Montgomery, Giles, Pulaski and Floyd, and Radford City), New River/Mount Rogers Workforce Investment Board, Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services, Virginia Employment Commission and Rapid Response.
This year’s expo is a certified “Virginia Green” event, which helps encourage environmentally sound practices throughout the state.
More information, including a list of employers attending, tips for job seekers, and registration for employer exhibit booths, is available at www.nr.edu/jobfair.
