LVNRV extends Scrabble tourney deadline

By PHYLLIS YOUHAS

S-N-O-W-Y (11 points) W-E-A-T-H-E-R (13 points) adds up to a total of 24 points and 24 reasons Literacy Volunteers of the New River Valley (LVNRV) has extended the deadline to register for its 6th Annual Scrabble Tournament.

Snowy weather trapped folks indoors so they couldn’t see the Scrabble Tournament posters that Pi Beta Phi placed in Blacksburg and Christiansburg.

Snowy weather distracted folks — too much fun to be outdoors building snowmen — no time to think about building words for Scrabble points.

Snowy weather changing to slush meant making up for lost time at work and school and putting off Scrabble registration.

Now that the snow is gone, those interested can visit LVNRV’s website, lvnrv.org, to purchase tickets to play Scrabble on Thursday, March 13.

Sign up by Friday, March 7, to join others who love to play Scrabble and help the literacy effort in the New River Valley.

For more information, contact Kester at jkester@nr.edu or 540-382-7262.
