Fieldstone United Methodist Church in Christiansburg will host a workshop on prisoner re-entry on Tuesday, April 8 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
According to Mary Lough with First United Methodist Church, the purpose of the workshop is to learn about the support and challenges in the New River Valley of prisoners being transitioned into the community. Those who attend will be able to ask questions and find out what they can do to help.
The workshop will include a panel of experts made up of members of the NRV re-entry council. That panel includes Senior Re-entry and Parole Officer Scott Bush, VA CARES Program Coordinator Darrell Lucas, and Jim Politis, who serves on the VA CARES Board of Directors.
The workshop will be open to the public, and is sponsored by the NRV Chapter of the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy, as well as Virginia Organizing.
