The Pulaski County Humane Society started selling chances on a 15-pound basket of chocolate temptation Thursday, March 20. Along with all the traditional name-brand favorites, the basket features more elite brands as well as assorted cocoa and cappuccino mixes, and a jar of chocolate hazelnut spread.

The basket also includes a bottle of chocolate flavored wine, a chocolate scented candle and a chocolate calendar to enjoy throughout the year.

The Humane Society’s goal is to raise funds to provide food and basic pet care for the homeless dogs and cats at the Pulaski County Animal Shelter. “April is when so many kittens are brought into the shelter and we will need every dollar to help in that area,” said Candice Simmons, executive director for Pulaski County Humane Society. “So take a chance, or five, or 10. Maybe you will win, and definitely you will be doing a good deed. Chances are $1 each or six for $5. Drawing will be on Good Friday.”

Tickets can be purchased at the Pulaski County Animal Shelter at 80 Dublin Park Road in Dublin. Hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.

The Pulaski County Humane Society thanks Elrica Shrewsbury for designing and donating the basket.
