Friends of Peak Creek, the group dedicated to maintaining and preserving the creek that runs through downtown Pulaski, is currently seeking members to join and help with their cause.
The group is classified as a Virginia 501 non-profit citizens group and is dedicated to protecting and preserving the environment, historical nature, recreational and commercial value of Peak Creek.
Ronald Hall, a Pulaski resident who decided to donate his time to the Town of Pulaski when he retired, co-founded the group with Vickie Houk last year.
“We are seeking to find ways to preserve the historic walls of the creek,” said Hall. “Those stone walls are over 120 years old, and the vegetation that has been allowed to grow in those walls has pushed some of the stones out, and it could continue until those walls completely deteriorate.”
