Alma Anderson Hanks

Alma Anderson Hanks, age 86 of Pulaski, VA passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014 at her home. Born May 1, 1927 in Pulaski, VA she was the daughter of the late William Albert and Anna Belle Robertson Anderson. Her husband of 65 years, Robert (Bob) Hanks; sisters, Bessie Gallimore, Bertha East, Thelma Lewey, Ruth Frost, Mamie Williams, and brothers, Clifton Anderson, Virgil Anderson, Harry Anderson and James Anderson also preceded her in death. She retired from Jefferson Mills and was a member of the Abundant Life Ministries.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Sharon Hanks of Harrisburg, Dennis and Rene Hanks of Dublin, Keith and Dayna Hanks of Radford, Earl and Judy Hanks of Pilot, Timmy and Missy Hanks of Pulaski, and Phyllis Hanks of Dublin; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one great great-granddaughter; brother and sister-in-law, brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Donna Anderson of Pulaski; special Friend of the family, Agnes Martin of Dublin, and special pet, Angel.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, March 24 at the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski with Pastor Randall Lawrence and the Rev. Earl Hanks officiating. Interment will follow at the Thornspring United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m., March 23 at Bower Funeral Home.
