Pulaski Senior Center is once again offering Tax-Aide assistance for senior citizens and low-to-moderate income Pulaski County residents beginning Monday.
The free assistance, sponsored by American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) Foundation, is particularly geared for those 60 years of age and older.
IRS-trained volunteers will be at the senior center, 106 N. Washington Ave., every Monday from Feb. 3 to April 14. Half-hour appointments are available between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Call 994-8627 to make an appointment.
Those seeking assistance should bring the following information to their appointment: valid photo identification, social security cards and birth dates of all individuals to appear on the return, wage and earning statements (W-2, W-2G, etc), interest and dividend statements (Form 1099s),
last year’s returns, and bank routing numbers (found on your check) for direct deposit.
Volunteers assist in filing tax forms and certain schedules, including the Form 1040. However, taxpayers with complex tax returns will be advised to seek paid tax assistance to do their return.
Local sponsors of the annual assistance program are AARP, Pulaski County RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) and Pulaski Senior Center.
