New River Community College still has spaces available in its SAT preparation course for those planning to take the college entrance test.

The course will be offered on NRCC’s Dublin campus Saturdays, 9 a.m. to noon, from Jan. 11 to Feb. 15. Tuition is $182 and the textbook fee of $45 can be paid at the first class.

The course includes a review of test topics, math and verbal drills, as well as helpful hints, tips and shortcuts to improve students’ ability to quickly cover test materials.

Meredith Jones, a Pulaski County High School math teacher, and Suzanne Steele, a retired PCHS English teacher, instruct the course. Jones has been teaching SAT preparation classes for six years and Steele, more than 20 years.

Students should bring a graphing calculator to class.

To register, contact NRCC’s Office of Workforce Development at 674-3600, ext. 4323.
