The New River Valley chapter of Project Linus will be holding a community Blanket Day at Grove United Methodist Church in Radford.

Blanket Day will be on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. According to a news release from the New River Valley chapter of Project Linus, the community is invited to come and learn what the group is all about.

In 2013, the New River Valley Project Linus chapter supplied 2,709 blankets to area children. At the community Blanket Days, they work on fleece blankets, cotton/flannel blankets as well as crocheted and knitted blankets.

According to the release, the blankets are distributed to agencies and individuals in need throughout the NRV.

For more information, contact Penny Sweet at 230-6209, via the group’s Facebook page, or visit their website at http://www.nrvprojectlinus.org.
